Expectations for the Osaka-Kansai Expo

I am looking forward to the Osaka Expo as an event where we can experience cutting-edge technologies such as AI, robotics, biotechnology, space science, and information science, and immerse ourselves in the future society.
It’s not just about viewing the technologies, but also enjoying the fun of imagining the future they will create. I also think it would be fascinating to trace the changes in historic Osaka through the Expo, as if becoming a character in a narrative scroll, traveling from the past to the future.

Expectations for DOIC

To implement the research outcomes of universities and research institutions into society, co-creation with diverse stakeholders is essential. Rather than remaining confined in the lab, I look forward to the chemical reactions that arise through collaboration across different fields. The metaverse space allows interactions with others that online meeting tools cannot provide. Through the DOIC platform, I hope we can create chemical reactions that bring to life our association’s slogan: “Brighter Sciences. Brighter Japan.”

Overview of Our Organization / University / Research

Japanese Association for the Advancement of Science (JAAS)
The Japanese Association for the Advancement of Science (JAAS) was established with the aim of becoming an organization that transcends the boundaries of disciplines, organizations, professions and job classifications, nationalities and ethnicities, and generations — an organization in which everyone can participate. It is a science outreach organization initiated in the private sector in Japan, and was incorporated as a non-profit organization (NPO) on February 22, 2022.
We believe that building a bright future for science in Japan requires dialogue and collaboration among individuals from diverse backgrounds who are motivated to advance science. At JAAS, we are committed to democratic and transparent governance, while also ensuring that individuals with diverse backgrounds and attributes (diversity) have opportunities to participate according to their unique circumstances (equity). We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can actively engage in dialogue and collaboration (inclusivity).
